Tanzania Ports Operations and Investments Limited (TPOIL) is a company incorporated under the Companies Act, Cap. 212 of the Laws of Tanzania. The Company is wholly owned by the Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) and operates as its strategic subsidiary for port operations and port-related investments.
TPOIL is mandated to undertake port operations and port-related commercial and investment activities aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, supporting trade facilitation, and contributing to sustainable port development in line with national priorities.
While TPA retains regulatory, landlord, and oversight functions, TPOIL focuses on commercially oriented port operations and investments. The Company complements TPA’s role by executing operational and investment activities within an approved legal and governance framework.
TPOIL provides port operations and terminal management services, undertakes port-related investments and commercial activities, and supports trade facilitation through integrated port and logistics services, subject to applicable laws and regulations.
Primarily, TPOIL operates within Tanzania. However, the Company may undertake port-related investments and business activities outside Tanzania where such engagements align with its mandate and receive the necessary approvals.
TPOIL is fully owned by the Tanzania Ports Authority, a public entity established under the laws of Tanzania.
